After graduating in 1968 from Valparaiso University, Indiana, with a double major in Art and Psychology, I started my career as an illustrator for the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. That initial experience began a 40-year career as an illustrator, graphic designer, art director and senior vice president of communications. My commercial art career included illustrating children’s books, designing book covers, magazines, cards, and directing creative staffs of many companies.
As a fine artist, I have exhibited my paintings at the Pentagon, and many galleries throughout the St. Louis area. I have had one-man shows at Washington University in St. Louis and Valparaiso University. My oil paintings contain a clear connection to the diversity found within the world around us. I seek to explore the colors of nature in all its variations. The constantly changing, luminary energy of the world and the shadowy dimensions of reflecting landscapes, flowers and trees are endlessly fascinating to paint.
My studio is located in the Central West End, St. Louis, Missouri. Please feel free to contact me through the Internet contact page provided.
Yours, Terry Whittle
